In February 2016, Saban Capital Group acquired a minority stake in BDG Media, Inc. (“Bustle”) as the lead investor in Bustle’s Series C financing round. Bustle is a leading female millennial-focused online media company covering topics including beauty, food, entertainment, and new moms. The company was founded by CEO Bryan Goldberg, who formerly co-founded Bleacher Report, an online sports media company sold to Turner in 2012. Bustle is headquartered in New York.
In April 2010, Saban Capital Group and Lionsgate Entertainment formed an equal partnership to operate and manage Tiger Gate. The joint venture was initially focused on a branded channel strategy in targeted Asian territories but in December 2011, Saban Capital Group and Lionsgate Entertainment merged their Tiger Gate Entertainment joint venture with Celestial Movies Channels, a wholly owned subsidiary of Astro, to form Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE). CTE, which is based in Hong Kong, is a diversified media company that operates branded pay television channels and produces and distributes content for Asian audiences. CTE’s channel bouquet includes Celestial Movies,Celestial Classic Movies, KIX, KIX HD and Thrill, with a footprint that spans Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia and China.
Saban Films, is a film acquisition and distribution company based in Los Angeles. The company will be acquiring a yearly slate of high-quality, feature films per year to distribute in North America via a major studio distribution partner. Focusing on commercial, talent driven films, the company looks at projects in all stages of production for release across multiple platforms, including a day and date theatrical/VOD release strategy. Based in Los Angeles, Saban Films was established by Haim Saban, and is led by Bill Bromiley who serves as president, Shanan Becker, Chief Financial Officer and Ness Saban, Director of Business Development.

In March 2007, Saban Capital Group, along with a consortium of private equity investors including Madison Dearborn Partners, Providence Equity Partners, TPG Capital and Thomas H. Lee Partners, completed its $14 billion acquisition of Univision Communications Inc. (“Univision”), the largest Spanish-language media company in the United States.
Univision’s portfolio encompasses television, radio and internet assets. Television operations include Univision Network (largest Spanish-language network in the U.S. and fifth largest network overall), TeleFutura Network, Galavisión, and Univision and TeleFutura Television Groups (62 O&O stations in total). Univision also owns and operates Univision Radio (75 O&O stations in total), and Univision Online (most-visited Spanish-language internet destination).
