Tiger Gate

In April 2010, Saban Capital Group and Lionsgate Entertainment formed an equal partnership to operate and manage Tiger Gate. The joint venture will initially focus on a branded channel strategy in targeted Asian territories and will expand across the region organically and through acquisitions. Lionsgate represented the ideal partner as they are a leading next generation studio with a 12,000-title motion picture and television library that complements the investment thesis.

Tiger Gate consists of two branded pay-TV channels, KIX and THRILL. KIX is an action focused channel featuring a mix of Asian blockbuster motion pictures, hit television shows, cutting edge reality series, action game shows, anime, extreme sports and mixed martial arts events. THRILL delivers high-end local Asian, Hollywood and international horror films and thrillers as well as hit television series. Both channels are launching and will operate in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei. The next phase of launch will involve expansion into China, India, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and the Middle East.
